Poker rules:-

Check:- it there is no bet on the table, the player has the option to check which means it is the next players chance. It moves clockwise. Check makes your forfeit your current chance to bet. If everyone checks during a round of betting, the round is considered to be completed.

Bet:- if there isn't a bet already laid out on the table, the current player can bet. If a bet is placed by a player, the next player has to either fold, raise the bet or match the bet.

Fold:- if you believe that your cards are not good enough or are not worth betting on you can fold which basically means your not playing that round of game. You do not need to place any bet

Call:- if you haven't folded and you are still playing, once a bet is placed, at your turn, you need to match the bet that's on the table, so you bet the same amount.

Raise:- when a bet is placed on the table, often you may have great cards and are sure of winning; in those cases you can raise the bet which basically means you place a bet higher than the one placed by your opponent on the table. The players after you will be required to place a bet equal to the one you have placed or they can raise it as well.

Many such betting rounds take place. The last bet in the last betting round is known as the "showdown". It is after this round that the winner is determined. The winner gets the entire pit which my friend is a huge lot of money. All the money on the table from all the betting rounds goes to the winner of the showdown.
